September 26, 2007 Update from NumbersUSA
If you feel that we have been pushing you too hard and too long over the last couple of weeks, please know that your efforts are largely the reason the amnesty has still not come up for a vote.
But also that the champions for more foreign-labor importation and more forced population growth are looking for any sign that your efforts might weaken just enough for them to slip the amnesty through before the window closes.

Sen. Durbin has unveiled a new version of the DREAM Act and - amendment #2919 to Department of Defense (DoD) authorization bill. DREAM amnesty proponents hope this will give offices the opportunity to convince faxers and callers that your concerns have been taken into consideration and that the “improved” DREAM Act addresses those concerns.
Don’t be fooled by the late attempt. Our legislative staff (the best on Capitol Hill) has looked over the “DREAM Act 2.0″ and determined that only two changes have been made:
(1) Sets age limit for amnesty. Now illegal aliens must be under 30 years old to qualify. However, there is still a “humanitarian” and “family unity” w aiver that can be granted by DHS.
(2) Removes the in-state college tuition section. However, aliens who get the amnesty will become legal residents and therefore will be automatically eligible for in-state tuition anyway.
Needless to say, while these changes make the DREAM Act slightly “less-bad,” as it were, DO NOT BE FOOLED: this is still an amnesty for millions of illegal aliens who then be able to turn around and petition for their parents who broke the law to bring them into the country in the first place.
Please fax your senators on this list who voted FOR amnesty this summer and let them know that you are aware of the changes that have been made to the DREAM Act, but you still find the DREAM Act amnesty unacceptable.
