The precinct meeting is where the Republican Party begins. We will elect delegates to the county convention (which is scheduled for March 10, 2012) and nominate members to the Washoe County Central Committee.
At the county convention we will elect the members of the Washoe County Central Committee and delegates to the Nevada Republican State Convention scheduled to be held in Reno on May 4-6, 2012.
The Washoe County Republican Central Committee meets four times per year and is charged with electing the officers of the Washoe County Republican Party (Chairman, 1st Vice Chairman, Secretary, and Treasure). These officers along with the other members of the executive committee are charged with running the day-to-day affairs of the party and report directly to the Central Committee.
The County Central Committee is also charged with electing representatives to the Nevada Republican Party Central Committee. The state central committee is charge with electing the officers of the state party (Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer). The national committeeman and national committeewoman are elected to four-year terms at the state convention. The Chairman of the party along with the national committeeman and national committeewoman are Nevada’s representatives on the Republican National Committee (RNC).
