Caucus Training

Training twice weekly at 6:30 PM Tuesdays and 11 AM Saturdays…The caucus is now less than 30 days away.  The Caucus is on February 4th at 9:00.  We have our locations, and on-line pre-registration was live on New Year’s Day .  The candidate field is set.  Now we need your help to bring it all together!  Now here’s what we need:

  • Training
  • Preparing Precinct Packets
  • Manning the Phones at GOP Headquarters
  • Day-Of Help – Setting Up, Checking People In, Etc.
  • GETTING THE WORD OUT!!!!

Any help you can provide for any (or all) of these items is appreciated!

Training

We will be having Caucus training at GOP Headquarters every Tuesday (at 6:30) and Saturday (at 11:00) in January, starting January 3rd.  (Check here for potential additional training sessions.)  If you’ve been through the training before and still have questions, come on in.  Bring and/or send your Republican friends and neighbors.  If you would like to set something at a different day and time up with your specific group, please let me know.  Don’t forget – people will be asking you questions.  Be ready to answer them!

Preparing Precinct Packets

The initial work for this is already being done.  Here’s the problem for us – the precincts aren’t actually set yet, because redistricting (for senate, assembly, county commission, and city council) isn’t yet fully and officially complete.  For our purposes, they WILL be final as of January 20, 2012.  The Monday following that date (we need the weekend to finalize precinct/school assignments), our office staff will need all the extra hands they can to help stuff the precinct packets with the necessary paperwork.  Please come on in if you can help – no need to make an appointment!

Phones

As the caucus gets closer, more and more people will be calling Washoe County Republican Headquarters to ask questions about the caucuses.  We’ll need folks who can be available to answer those questions, and even better, get them pre-registered on line to keep the lines on February 4th to a minimum.  The closer we get to the caucus date, the more help we’ll need.  Again, there’s no set time for this – any time you’re able to come in will be a big help!

Caucus Location Help

This is when we’ll need the most bodies.  We have 15 schools available to us from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.  We will need all the help we can setting up, getting people checked in, helping people find their actual locations, and cleaning up.  Location volunteers WILL still be able to participate in their own precinct meetings!!!

Pre-register on line as soon as possible, and tell me which school your precinct has been assigned to (when you pre-register, you’ll be shown your caucus location immediately).  We’ll need volunteers to be there at 8:00 if possible.

Remember, you have to be registered as a Republican no later than January 20th, 2012.  If you have conservative friends who aren’t registered as Republicans but want to have a say in who the GOP Presidential nominee will be, get them properly registered now!
